Marc Boumeester is going to be the new dean of the AKI. His appointment was announced on Thursday, 16th of April.
Marc Boumeester already worked eight years for the AKI. Besides lecturing film he was involved in the transformation of the visual communication department into the current study Crossmedia Design. Recently he formulated the concept and curriculum of the new study Moving Image.
Marc studied communication science at the UVA and worked as an executive producer of feature films, tv-shows, documentaries and as an (art)educator for KABK, Fontys and Delft UT. For the Delft University of Technology he developed several master programmes bordering media, art and architecture.
Beside his activities, Marc is working to obtain a doctorate at the Centre for the Arts in Society (LUCAS) Leiden University.
In Marc Boumeester the AKI has found a dean who knows the organisation very well, has a broad experience and a vast national- and international network. Marc started in his new function as from May the 1st.
