Painter Thijs Segers, who graduated from Fine Art Painting last summer, is the new winner of the HeArtfund Prize. The Hengelo foundation HeArtpool supports one recently graduated artist from AKI ArtEZ Fine Art every year, for a period of one year. Previous winners of this prize were Liesbeth Piena and Nancy de Graaf. The winners receive support in the form of a workspace (including costs for rent, gas, water and light), a one-off basic fee and a monthly contribution for material costs. There is also the opportunity for advice and guidance at the start of the professional practice. HeArtfund works together with the Welbions Housing Corporation and artists established in Hengelo (O). The support year will be concluded with a solo exhibition organized by the HeArtfund and a publication of the work made during the working period.
